In every NJ Pick 3 draw, there is also a Fireball number which creates additional winning combinations. Find out more about how this works and how you can add it to your ticket to boost your odds.
Fireball is not automatically included on your ticket. You have to add it by marking the ‘Yes’ box in the relevant section on your playslip, or requesting it from the retailer.
There is nothing else to do, such as picking another number. Playing Fireball doubles the cost of your wager.
You can use the Fireball that is drawn to replace any of the three main winning numbers. Here is an example:

If you played a Straight and picked the numbers 129, for example, you would not have a win in the base game, but you would be able to swap out the 3 and put in the Fireball of 9 to give you a winning combination.
Remember that the numbers on your ticket never change, but the Fireball does make three new winning combinations for each draw. If your numbers match any of these new combos, you are eligible for a prize as long as you have added Fireball to your ticket.
Depending on which numbers are drawn, you can even win multiple Fireball prizes on the same play, in addition to any wins you might get in the base game.
